APCOM is an organisation for print and communication managers employed within the UK public sector. Founded in October 1979 by Printing Managers for Printing Managers (formally known as AIM Association of In-Plant Managers). In April 2000 the Association changed its name to APCOM largely to reflect changing times and a membership which not only includes print managers but design, communication, IT and business managers.
Membership is drawn from Local Authorities, Police Authorities, other Public Bodies, including Emergency Services, Schools, Universities, Charities, and Central Government, with digital copier type facilities to the larger litho print operations.
Leading trade association BAPC, run by printers for printers, provides members with a wealth of knowledge and support. The Association concentrate on developing services and facilities that directly help BAPC members succeed. It is the aim of the Association to cultivate a “community of print” that acts as a forum for the industry to work together for mutual benefit.
The British Coatings Federation is the sole UK Trade Association representing the interests of the decorative, industrial and powder coatings, printing inks and wallcovering manufacturers. Coatings and inks are critical to UK industry, with 300,000 workers relying on our members' products every day, and the UK is a net exporter of coatings and inks. BCF's members represent 95% of the UK sales of coatings, inks and wallcoverings.
The BPIF is the principal business support organisation representing the UK print, printed packaging and graphic communication industry. We strive to ensure members’ requirements come first. Offset Printer’s Association based in India (OPA) was established in1988 to look after the day to day problems of the printing and packaging industry. Founded in Beijing in 1985, Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC) is a national, professional and non-profit social organization with legal person status of social group, voluntarily composed by relevant units engaged in production, research and development, education and training, information services, etc. in printing, printing equipment and printing material industries.
As one of the founders, PEIAC allied the main national printing associations of the world and established “The Federation of Global Print (Global Print)” and “The Federation of Asia Print Exhibition (Asia Print)”. At present, PEIAC chairs the two federations.
