The graphic arts and print industry is keen to attract new and young talent, and help them develop a career within the industry. There is also a requirement for print businesses to re-train and develop the skills of existing staff.
The Future Skills Zone at IPEX provides a platform to help the print industry promote itself by showing young people the range and breadth of opportunities available to them.
For those considering a career in print and the graphic arts industries
Students considering their first career step can listen to apprentices and other young people already in the industry who will talk about their careers, from graphic designers and paper manufacturers, to engineers and environmental controllers.
For print businesses looking to attract young talent and develop existing staff
Presentations about recruitment, apprenticeship programmes, and the apprenticeship levy will help print businesses attract young talent into their business. There will be sessions on succession planning, mentoring and reskilling to ensure they keep good staff and keep abreast of the skills needed to keep their business current and even grow their business.
There will be presentations and panel discussions over the four show days by apprentices, young talent in the industry, BPIF, Brief Cases, The Printing Charity and PrintiT. A networking event will also take place in the Future Skills Zone.
