Knowledge Centre Seminar Programme

A key feature of the Knowledge Centre will be the Seminar Theatre. The Seminar Theatre will feature presentations from Knowledge Centre exhibitors and international Associations. It will be the perfect platform for visitors to learn and for participant organisations to communicate to the global print community.

Seminar Theatre Close up

The Seminar Theatre is designed to open and easily accessible by visitors. Presentations within it will cover key topics such as the environment, business and best practice, education, applications and associations.

Exhibitor Booth

Each Knowledge Centre exhibitor will have their own booth, like the one above. It will be the ideal opportunity for visitors to meet participants and speak face to face with organisation representatives.

The Printing Industry Pension Scheme

  The Printing Industry Pension Scheme (PIPS)
The 2008 Pensions Bill sets down new responsibilities for all employers to automatically enrol all employees into a workplace pension scheme from October 2012.  Representatives from The Printing Industry Pension Scheme (PIPS) will be at Ipex 2010 to provide the relevant information and options to help employers comply with this new legislation.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)


FSC              The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) offers a solution which enables you to demonstrate, through independent certification, that the paper products you sell or use in your business come from well managed sources and exclude the risk of using illegally logged timber.  It also gives options for maximising the use of post-consumer recycled paper.

FSC UK is a registered charity working to promote and support the system in the UK.  We can provide advice on gaining FSC certification and promoting FSC products.

Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating


 WCPC   For over 18 years the WCPC (Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating) has been one of the world’s leading centres for research and development of printing and coating processes. It has extensive experience of working with industry, performing trials and evaluations on site; working with all sectors involved in the print supply chain, from the component supplier through to end clients.

In addition to the extensive facilities for commercial & packaging printing the WCPC has created a Knowledge Transfer Centre for Functional Materials. With open access facilities supporting the use of printing as a major disruptive technology for efficient, environmentally friendly advanced manufacturing for applications as diverse as automotive, garments, packaging and point of care medical diagnostics. This allows the opportunity for conventional print facilities to move in to new market sectors.

NIPA


 NIPA  North India Printers' Association (NIPA) is the group of Printers' Association from the Northern part of India i.e. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh). NIPA is known to be the most active printers body in India. At NIPA our mission is to work as a bridge between the manufacturers/suppliers and the actual user industry. Punjab Print is the official journal of NIPA, Published six time in a year Punjab Print is the highest circulated printing journal  in the northern states of India. For one stop information about the Indian Printing and Packaging industry NIPA Directory is the one and only source. NIPA Directory is also known as the encyclopedia of Indian Printing industry.

 


Pakistan Association of Printing and Graphic Arts Industry (PAPGAI)


 PAPGAI logo  Since 1959 the Pakistan Association of Printing and Graphic Arts Industry (PAPGAI) was recognised by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan.  PAPGAI has played a leading role for the betterment of the printing and graphic arts industry. Organizing seminars, workshops and exhibitions are some of the examples of PAPGAI's endeavor for providing training opportunities throughout the industry.



FOGRA


 FOGRA   The objective of Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association is to undertake research into, to develop and to apply printing technology and to help the printing industry to use the results obtained. To this end the Association maintains its own institute, with a staff of 52 that includes engineers, chemists and physicists.

Fogra’s principal tasks concern research, development, transfer of know-how, development of standards and consultancy. Fogra’s departments include pre-press, printing processes, post-press including ID cards, materials, environment/chemistry and quality management. 


The Centre for Fine Print Research

CFPR

The Centre for Fine Print Research, University of the West of England, Bristol is a unique research centre whose activities cross the boundaries of industrial print development and fine art printmaking. Our areas of expertise include; colour science from a user perspective; traditional 19th Century printing processes; wide format digital printing; 3D printing technologies; laser-cutting for paper and packaging and screenprinting.


APCOM

APCOM 

APCOM is an organisation for print and communication managers employed within the UK local government sector. Founded in October 1979 by Printing Managers for Printing Managers (formally known as AIM Association of In-Plant Managers). In April 2000 the Association changed its name to APCOM largely to reflect changing times and a membership which not only includes print managers but design, communication, IT and business managers.

Membership is drawn from Local Authorities, Police Authorities, other Public Bodies, including Emergency Services, Schools, Universities and Central Government, with digital copier type facilities to the larger litho print operations.
