Together they provide scheduled flights from 34 destinations in the UK, Europe and North America. The NEC is also accessible from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and other regional airports.

By Road

Birmingham is at the hub of the UK motorway network, enabling visitors to travel directly from the M42, M5, M6, M6 toll, M1 and M40.

The M6 toll is an entirely new motorway, north and east of Birmingham. The motorway is a 27 mile, dual 3-lane carriageway between Junctions 4 and 11 of the M6. Providing Fast, Effective, Relief from the M6.

Taxis are also available outside NEC entrances. Taxi freephones are situated within the foyer of the Piazza, Atrium and Arena.

By Train

Travel to Ipex 2010 by train and, if you are visiting from abroad, extend your stay and enjoy the rest of the UK:


Virgin Trains offers direct services from London Euston to the NEC - journey time approximately 90 mins.  Visitors must alight at Birmingham International for the NEC.  This station is linked directly to the NEC by a covered walkway and the halls are clearly signposted.

You can access the NEC from the city centre via Birmingham New Street Station which is just 15 minutes away from Birmingham International.

For Overseas Visitors
Virgin Trains run a direct Coachlinks service from all Heathrow terminals to Watford Junction train station every hour from the early morning to late at night, seven days a week (at weeekends this service strats at 10.00am). Journey time is about 40mins. From Watford Junction customers can pick up a Virgin Train which goes direct to the NEC (customers must alight at Birmingham International station for the NEC) where staff will be on hand to give directions. Train services from Watford Junction to Birmingham International takes just over 1hour. Through tickets may be purchased on arrival at Heathrow Airport.
