International roadshows
The Ipex marketing world tour! For Ipex 2010 there has been a series of international roadshows that will replace the international branding campaign that was run for Ipex 2006. Events – from roadshows to intimate customer gatherings – create an invaluable opportunity to chat to current and potential customers and gain insight by interacting directly. Relationships are built through networking that is impossible to attain over the phone or via e-mail. |
Taking the Ipex story around the worldThe roadshows have been used to take the Ipex story around the world this year. Meeting potential exhibitors and visitors face-to-face in their own territories has been a brilliantly effective way to get the Ipex message across.
The roadshows form the backbone of the Ipex international branding campaign in the run up to the 2010 event to achieve the following objectives: |
Key markets at key timesWe’ve taken the Ipex message directly to key print industry markets like The Netherlands, Belgium, the USA, France, Germany, Japan, China and Italy...with India scheduled for October 2009. In each country we have provided information and help to encourage suppliers to take part, including:

Attendee feedback"With just over a year to go until Ipex 2010, the event provided a great opportunity to focus our minds on how best to plan for the show. I found the information about co-marketing opportunities, the new marketing tools such as Performance Index, the personalised website functions and information about social media extremely valuable. The event also emphasised that in addition to the efforts from the Ipex team, it’s just as important that the exhibitors themselves do their utmost to attract as many visitors as possible to the show. Another bonus was the chance to meet other exhibitors and representatives of the trade press, which resulted in many interesting discussions.” “The roadshow is a great initiative from the Ipex 2010 organisers as it gives us exhibitors great opportunities to meet with each other and also share ideas and previous experience.” Gudrun Baunach, Kodak’s Director Marketing Services Graphic Communications Group, commented: “Ipex is a key date in the print calendar. The Ipex International Marketing Tour proved to be very useful preparation and featured lots of practical tips on how to get the most out of this show. In addition, it was very helpful for identifying new ways to highlight our attendance at the event – for example, using social media as marketing tools to bring the exhibition to a wider audience and invite people along.” Tim Webb, Director of the UK suppliers’ association Picon said: ““I was struck by the range of innovations announced at the Ipex 2010 exhibitors’ event at Komori’s smart building in Utrecht. In particular, the Performance Index initiative sounds a very important benefit for many SMEs, in accurately assessing how to improve the return on investment from their exhibition spend. Lots of useful information made this a very worthwhile meeting.” Linda Hilberdink, European Marketing Coordinator, Screen Europe explains why she found the event of value: “It’s always good to know about new marketing options in advance so we can work with the organisers to ensure both parties have a successful show.” |
